After a good 1st episode, I'm actually a little. Hmm.. actually.. very disappointed with episode 2. Yes, it's still funny but perhaps because it's Nodame Cantabile, so my expectation is.. Higher..For those who have watched the Live Action, I bet you are as disappointed as me... I can't believe that they actually put the entire Platini arc in 1 single episode that ONLY lasted 20 minutes. =/ The Live Action went through the same Platini arc in 1 Special episode.. but that episode lasted for 1 hour!!The IMPORTANT musical performaces are not even featured long enough.. They only show snippets of conducting performances by Jean, Katahira and Chiaki.. It's bad enough to only show bits of Jean's and Katahira's performances.. but how can they skip Chiaki’s epic Tchaikovsky performance at the very end?! Ain't that what Chiaki has always dreamed of since young. Shouldn't it have more emphasis? Sigh..
Episode 2Chiaki, Nodame and Frank travel together on an Otaku train...In the train.. Nodame gives Chiaki a 'special' good luck charm for the Platini Conductors' competition XD
Nodame and Frank in an Anime festival..
1st Prelim round.. Chiaki picks
Haydon Symphony No. 104 in D Major. This part only lasts for less than 30 seconds.. =/
Chiaki qualifies for 2nd and 3rd Prelim rounds.Crazy Nodame in action again.. ^^
3rd Prelim round.. Chiaki picks the same piece (
Richard Strauss’s Till Eulenspiegels Lustige Streiche, Op. 28) as Jean which puts him under a lot of pressure. Jean performs first and impresses everyone.
"Being told to play 'quieter' pisses off the horn players because it's so damn hard"Evil Chiaki in action again.. He is making the oke members really pissed with him.. haha..
Perhaps under too much stress.. Chiaki makes a mistake and surprisingly apologizes..
After making the mistake in the 3rd Prelim round, Chiaki feels down.Nodame tries to encourage but.. as usual.. pisses him off instead..
Left: Kitahara's turn to perform in the 3rd Prelim round. He performs
Mikhail Glinka’s Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila. He has a unique 'jumping' conducting style which captivates the audience heart.
Right: Jean, Katahira and Chiaki qualify for Finals.. Katahira is hugging Chiaki.. and please look at Nodame's expression.. haha..
Nodame helps Chiaki chooses his performance piece for the Finals.. and she picks...
Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto is Chiaki's favorite since young..
The night before the Finals.. D70?!.. haha.. I wonder what is Nodame up to..
Look at Chiaki's shocked look.. he's a man after all... haha.. but of course, nothing happens..
With the 'lucky' baton, Chiaki performs
Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto in D Major, Op 35. This performance lasted for ZERO seconds...
(yea.. they skip the ENTIRE performance and almost immediately announce the Winner - Chiaki Shinichi... =/)What a disappointing end to episode 2..
