Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou Episode 9

I really like Natsume Yuujinchou. So far, every episode is touching and always has something special. In this episode, we get to see sakura. The art is really beautifully done. How I wish I can paint sakura on my wall too! Sigh.. too bad.. I can't draw! SummaryNatsume and Nyanko-sensei stumble upon a painting of bare sakura trees in a flea market. Natsume feels that there's something special about the painting and decides to bring it home. Since then, every morning when Natsume wakes up, his room is always covered in flower petals.One night, Natsume and Nyanko-sensei decide to stay up to find out the truth behind the petals. That night, a youkai appears from the ceiling and scatters some flower petals. Nyanko-sensei tries to protect Natsume by attacking her but Natsume prevents him from doing so. The youkai is called Miya and the flower petals are meant for her dear friend, Yasaka, who is in the painting. Natsume tries to return the painting to Miya but can't as the painting seems to be stuck to be wall.From that night onwards, Miya will drop by Natsume's house everyday. One day, she shares with Natsume the story behind the painting. Yasaka was actually a human. A long time ago, they used to chat every sakura season. Miya would hide among the sakura flowers while Yasaka would sit under the sakura tree. Both of them love flowers and Yasaka's dream is to travel with Miya to see the flowers of the world. They chatted for a few springs at the sakura tree, until one year, he stopped coming. She waited there for a long time but he didn't turn up. She started to look for him everywhere, until she found the painting where he's in.As the days go by, Natsume's health begins to deteriorate. It appears that the painting has gained spiritual power from Miya and is stealing Natsume's energy. Using Natsume's energy, the branches of the trees in the painting are spreading outside the painting and to the wall. Miya expresses her apology and decides to burn the painting. However, Natsume stops her and asks her to wait for a few more days. Over the few days, Natsume's health worsens. Miya is determined to burn the painting but before that, she asks Natsume to help her draw sakura on the branches. After it's all done, Natsume collapses. He dreams of himself walking around in the painting of full-bloom sakura trees. In the painting, he sees Miya and Yasaka reunite.When he wakes up, the painting is still on the wall but the spreading branches and the sakura flowers, which they had drawn, are gone. When he looks into the painting, Yasaka is no longer in it.In Natsume's mind, he wonders if Miya is finally together with Yasaka and if she has revealed her youkai identity to him.
