A few new characters are introduced - Sheska, Ross and Brosh. They all appear much more livelier than in the first anime. This certainly makes them more interesting. There are 2 parts I really like in this episode.1.
Roy: 'Until I see that bastard's corpse with my own eyes, I can't calm down or date.'It's great to see Roy Mustang behaving more like himself. So far, he has too little screen time. Earlier, Roy also talks about his ambition of becoming a Fuhrer. Too bad, the mini-skirt talk is omitted this time round.2.
Ed calling himself small and starts squirming. LOL
Mini SummaryEd and Al arrive back in Central, only to find the First Branch Library burn to the ground. Ed is devastated that Dr Marcoh’s research materials are destroyed in the fire. In East City, Scar encounters Lust and Gluttony in the sewers, resulting in a huge explosion. Scar manages to escape. Roy and his men later find Scar’s bloody jacket among the rubble.Meanwhile, Ed and Al's new escorts, Maria Ross and Denny Brosh, direct them to someone who is familiar with the destroyed documents. Her name is Sheska and she's a bookworm who can remember everything that she has read before. Since she has read Dr Marcoh's works before, she can remember them and she make duplicates for Ed and Al. Ed and Al discover that Dr Marcoh actually wrote a cooking book, and Ed reckons that Dr Marcoh has encrypted his alchemy research. As a token of appreciation, Ed pays Sheska a large amount of money out of his research funds. In the middle of deciphering the code, Sheska pays them a visit to express her gratitude. Hughes also shows up to complain to the brothers about the loss of his archived documents in the fire. Upon hearing that, Ed and Al set him up with Sheska who remembers those documents. Ed and Al then resume deciphering Dr Marcoh's cooking book. After 10 days of perseverance, they finally decipher it, but only to discover its horrifying secret: the raw materials for Philosopher's Stone is living humans. Ed asks Ross and Brosh to keep it a secret, but Armstrong learns about it from them using intimidation. Armstrong reminds Ed of what Dr Marcoh had said about the real truth behind the truth and Ed realizes that there must be something more to it. Armstrong reveals that Dr Marcoh used to belong to the Third Laboratory, but what catches Ed’s eye on the map is the closed Fifth Laboratory building that has been put off-limit and next to it is a prison. Ed suspects that prisoners who were to be executed were instead used for this research. Armstrong decides to personally look into the matter and he tells Ed and Al to stay put, but they both manage to sneak out to the laboratory. Ed, who is small enough, enters the building via an air duct. Since Al is too big, he waits outside. However, a short while later, Al gets attacked by someone wielding a chopper (Barry the Chopper).

Ed and Al's first visit to Sheska's book mountain.
Hmm... I wonder how much Sheska is paid?
It's certainly not easy to decrypt Dr Marcoh's cooking book.
Sheska is officially hired by Hughes.
Sometimes, it's better to not know the truth.
Armstrong is truly intimidating. (0-0)
Despite Armstrong's intimidation, Ed and Al still decide to check out the Fifth Laboratory.
Poor Al is too big.
Ed: 'Ahh! I said I'm small!' LOL
