This episode begins quite well. There's some humor and we get to see the cute side of Excel and Kuro. We also finally know the name of the bespectacled guy. Yea.. I no longer have to call him the bespectacled guy. His name is Kuraki and he seems to know Keita. I quickly check out Episode 1 and I think Kuraki was Keita's good friend.
Kuraki - before and after. Anyway, my enjoyment wanes quite considerably in the second half. Keita is moodier and has more mood swings than before. At the end of the episode, he even confronts Steiner, who helps to fight off the Tribal Ends who are after Kuro. The confrontation leads to a battle between Kuro and Steiner, which will be shown in the next episode. In my opinion, the confrontation is totally pointless. Steiner and Excel are obviously trying to help them. Darn.. I seriously hate Keita! (`ะท´)
SummaryThis episode begins with Steiner and Excel following Akane to her workplace. They want to verify if the Tera Excel felt is from a Mototsumitama. To do that, they pretend to be father and daughter to get near her. They conclude that the Tera is from a Mototsumitama, who is near her. They decide to investigate further by following her after work.They follow Akane to a restaurant where Kuro and Keita are in. Keita tells Akane everything that happened in school and Akane suggests them to report to the police. Kuro is against the idea as she is certain that policemen are bad guys. She then goes on and tells them her bad experience with the police and how she breaks the prison wall to set herself free.In a corporate building, Kuraki meets up with the President, Yuki, who looks exactly like Akane, and Reishin. She asks Kuraki why he hasn’t found her Doppeliner (must be Akane). Kuraki assures her that he is trying his very best. After that, he goes back to his room. When he sees a photograph of Akane, Keita and Kuro, he deletes Akane and focuses on Keita.Meanwhile, Kuro, Keita and Akane are still in the restaurant. Kuro orders a lot of food and their discussion continues. Kuro is sure that the culprit behind everything is her brother and she asks Keita, as her contractee, to lend her his strength. Upon hearing that, Keita starts to throw his temper at Kuro, causing a commotion in the restaurant.Later that evening, after meal, Keita notices that a car has been parked outside the restaurant for a very long time. He suspects that the bad guys are tailing them and he pulls Akane and they start running. However, they still end up trapped by a motorcycle gang of Tribal Ends. They are under the orders of Hiyou and their purpose is to capture Kuro and they are allowed to kill Keita and Akane if they wish to. Kuro tries to fight them but it seems like her strength has not fully recovered. Again, without Keita's synchronization, she's totally pawned by the Tribal Ends. Kuro is captured by the Exceed of one of the Tribal Ends and is unable to move. The Tribal Ends then shift their attention to Keita and Akane. Just when the Tribal Ends are about to finish them, Steiner appears and saves them. He easily defeats all the Tribal Ends. Akane remembers them and wants to offer her thanks but Keita stops her and confronts Steiner instead. He also gives Steiner a punch on the face. Excel tells them that attacking her Mototsumitama means challenging them to a battle. Kuro accepts the challenge and vows to protect Keita.
