Is this going to be a Harem? Hmm... it really seems like it. Kiri announces to everyone she's dating Kanako and Ryuuken vows to protect Kanako. Wow.. Kanako must be the happiest gal!The entire episode is very confusing - animation wise, style wise and plot wise. The middle 15 minutes is absolutely boring. There's too much of Kanako! She's either ranting over nothing or trying to act like a detective. I'm disappointed that there's very little of Mariya in this episode. Maria†Holic without Mariya is like pizza without cheese. I do hope to see more of 'her'. If she continues to be 'missing' in the next episode, Maria†Holic is worth dropping.Ending Theme
The voices behind these 3 characters sing the ED. It's called 'Kimi ni, Mune Kyun' and performed by Yu Kobayashi, Asami Sanada and Marina Inoue (the main Seiyuu for this anime series). Like the OP, this song is not my cup of tea.SummaryMariya gives Kanako a new bag because her old one was ruined by alaria. However, there seems to be something living inside the bag and Kanako refuses to use it. Matsurika insists that it's one of Mariya's jokes and there's nothing inside. Kanako then takes out a Rosario from her drawer. Inside her drawer, there's also a book called 'Collection of Yuri stories across Japan'. She plans on wearing the Rosario for the day as Kumagai sensei is teaching her how to use it to pray after school. Mariya informs Kanako that students are not allowed to wear accessories, except Rosaries, to school. Mariya then shows Kanako her own Rosary and she even insists that Kanako must borrow it. Matsurika wonders why Mariya wants Kanako to borrow something so important to 'her'. She also notices that Kanako’s Rosary resembles Mariya’s Rosary a little. Before lunch, Kanako shockingly finds nikogori under her desk. During lunch time, Kanako and friends eat the nikogori. Kanako tries to find the link between this and the recent happenings. However, her train of thoughts is interrupted by Sachi noticing Mariya’s Rosary. Sachi is quite well-versed in gemstones as her family is in the jewelry business. She notices that the stone attached to Mariya's Rosary is very rare. When incandescent light is shone on the green stone, it changes its color to red. Kanako asks Sachi roughly how much the Rosary costs, just in case she breaks it and has to pay for it. To Kanako's horror, Sachi replies that it costs roughly ¥15 million.While Kanako and her classmates are changing to their sports attire, a group of 3 girls enter her classroom and try to replace her pencil case with a dried bonito. When they open up her bag, they are shocked by what they see. The creature inside her bag eats up the dried bonito. Kanako then appears and asks why they are doing this. They admit that they are angry with her over her close relationships with Ryuuken and Mariya. One of the girls pretends to throw Mariya’s Rosary out of the window, causing Kanako to desperately chase after it.It's raining and Kanako continues to search for the Rosary. The 3 girls feel a little sorry fo her. Kiri, who saw everything that happened earlier on, takes Mariya’s Rosary to Kanako outside. Kanako is happy to see the expensive Rosary. When they return to the classroom, Kiri surprises the 3 girls and Kanako by announcing that she's dating Kanako from now on!
While Kanako is at the corridor feeling happy that she has a new girlfriend, she bumps into Ryuuken. Mariya and Matsurika are also at the corridor. As they walk towards Kanako, they watch in shock as Ryuuken declares that she will protect Kanako from all bullies. To make the whole story even more confusing, a strange alaria monster appears.Pictures
